I have found mine; the “Repeater” shawl by Meghan Jackson. Yes another sample knit for Unwind Yarn House….ups Wendy looks like we had the same idea about our post for our site this week. Though I had the fun knitting them and very fast too I may add..LOL

This one is nice and big and will hold up over your shoulders with ease. As this shawl is a very wide and not deep triangle.

Try knitting it with two skeins of “Madelinetosh merino light” about 840.0 yards , like I have for the second shawl.

The first one I knit with one skein. Once I soaked and blocked that one first shawl I thought something just does not look right?!?

Ops..Yes I did make a mistake, but only to the perfectionist if you look at the pattern. I knit the increases on one side and the decreases on the opposite side. 

…you see I think this is a “One Of a Kind” shawl and why say it is wrong? Because I like it this way too and how sais we have to knit everything as per pattern…we can be original too

Suchst Du nach einer großen stricken für diesen Sommer?

Ich habe es gefunden; “Repeater” Schal von Meghan Jackson. Dieser ist schön und groß und kann bis über die Schultern mit Leichtigkeit geschagen werden. Da dieser Schal sehr breit und nicht sehr tieft is hält er gut über Deine Schulter.

Versuche es mit zwei Kneueln von ” Madelinetosh Merino light” so etwa 768 Meter wie mein zweiter Schal.

Bei meinem ersten  Schal, hatte ich nur mit einem Kneuel gestrickt.  Nachdem der Schal fertig gestrickt war sowie eingeweicht und blockiert wurde, dachte ich das etwas einfach nicht richtig ist?!? ….

Ja Himmel Blau habe ich doch einen fehler gemacht dabei? Ja wenn Du auf das Muster gehts schon. Tatsächlich hatte ich die Aufnehmen auf einer Seite gestrickt und die Abnahmen auf the anderen  Seite.

 Ja ich habe einen Fehler gemacht! Aber nur für den Perfektionisten … ich denke, das ist ein “One of a Kind” Schal! Es muss ja nicht alles immer wie nach Muster sein…mir gefällt er auch so…man darf ja auch etwas orginell sein.

Just would like to share these amazing pictures with You all. I find then absolutely breathtaking. I especially Love the second picture! The raindrops are just hanging on the flowers so very pretty...some of my favourite pictures are the once with nature and rain. You have captured some great photos once again Sandy. Look at how pretty it was at Awenda Provincial Park. We drove up just for the day and all the Trillium flowers where still in full bloom. This flower is the official flower of the Canadian Province of Ontario.

The water was still pretty cold but we still went for a swim…nice and refreshing.  And the water snake though she had to show how she could swim in the crystal clear water.

Was für ein wunderschönes langes Wochenende.

Schau, wie schön es war in Awenda Provincial Park. Wir fuhren nur für den Tag zu diesem Park und alle Trillium Blumen, waren in voller Blüte. Diese Blume ist auch die Kanadische Provicial  Blume von Ontario.

 Das Wasser war noch ziemlich kalt, doch hatte das uns nicht zurück gehalten doch ins Wasser zu gehen … schön und erfrischend. Und die Wasser Schlange die sich auch zeigen wollte konnte man so gut sehen in dem kristall klaren Wasser.

Two Way Ruffle Schal von Churchmouse Garne und Tees ….

Strick Dir ein paar mehr von dem inneren Schal in verschiedenen Farben, und Du kanst mit Deiner Kleidung spielen und den Schal in verschieden Farben tragen. Da die zwei Schals ineinender gelegt werden
Alles  in der Runde gestrickt, würde ich Euch empehlen den ausseren Loch-Muster Schal mit einer kleineren Nadlegrösse zu stricken. damit der aussere Schal etwas bessser sitzt um den inneren Schal.

Look at this colour, Orange Berry.

You should be able to feel this yarn from Louet called “KidLin Lace Weight”. It is a blend of Mohair and Linen and so soft.

With only 3 skeins about 750 yard or 700 meters you could knit this pattern called “Amiga“ by Mags Kandis up. This is a pattern I have used many times before with a variety of yarns 

A very fast top down knit with needle size 4.5mm it will give this cardi a nice, light and airy feel.

One could see it knit up at Unwind Yarn House where you also could  purchase this yarn.

Though she ask if I could knit this as a top and not a cardi. Sure I can do that. Both ways are very pretty and as it is a Top Down knit it was easy to knit up.

I used 8 skeins of Italgamma Filati Fantasia Cezanne that I had in my stash and a 4mm needle to create this one into a summer top. the yardage was only 760 yards or 670 meters. So not too much yarn was required.

the pattern is a large so on me it is to big…so I hope it will be perfect on my Mom.

Entlich kann ich ein Muster stricken für mein Mutt’.

Ich hatte mehrere Muster für sie ausgewählt, wir beschlossen uns für das  ”Zoe Jäcklein” von Cheri Christian.

Doch als ein Sommer Pulli und nicht Jacke war der Wunsch. Klar, ich kann das tun.

Beide Wege sind sehr hübsch und da es ein Top Down stricken war,ist es einfach da su ändern. Ich hatte  von “Italgamma Filati Fantasia Cezanne” 8 Kneuel zum versticken gebraucht  und mit einer 4mm Nadelstärche diesen sommer Pulli hergezaubert.   Insgesammt brauchte ich nur 670 Meter also nicht  viel Garn braucht man dazu. Nun hoffe ich doch das dieser Pulli tip top steht an meiner Mutt’ in Groesse 40 ist dieser doch zu Gross für mich…

It makes me smile to read that there are  many kind and wonderful people out there that do care about one another….

A NYC Taxi driver wrote:

I arrived at the address and honked the horn. After waiting a few minutes I honked again. Since this was going to be my last ride of my shift I thought about just driving away, but instead I put the car in park and walked up to the door and knocked.. ‘Just a minute’, answered a frail, elderly voice. I could hear something being dragged across the floor.

After a long pause, the door opened. A small woman in her 90′s stood before me. She was wearing a print dress and a pillbox hat with a veil pinned on it, like somebody out of a 1940′s movie.

By her side was a small nylon suitcase. The apartment looked as if no one had lived in it for years. All the furniture was covered with sheets.

There were no clocks on the walls, no knickknacks or utensils on the counters. In the corner was a cardboard
box filled with photos and glassware.

‘Would you carry my bag out to the car?’ she said. I took the suitcase to the cab, then returned to assist the woman.

She took my arm and we walked slowly toward the curb.

She kept thanking me for my kindness. ‘It’s nothing’, I told her.. ‘I just try to treat my passengers the way I would want my mother to be treated.’

‘Oh, you’re such a good boy, she said. When we got in the cab, she gave me an address and then asked, ‘Could you drive
through downtown?’

‘It’s not the shortest way,’ I answered quickly..

‘Oh, I don’t mind,’ she said. ‘I’m in no hurry. I’m on my way to a hospice.

I looked in the rear-view mirror. Her eyes were glistening. ‘I don’t have any family left,’ she continued in a soft voice..’The doctor says I don’t have very long.’ I quietly reached over and shut off the meter.

‘What route would you like me to take?’ I asked.

For the next two hours, we drove through the city. She showed me the building where she had once worked as an elevator operator.

We drove through the neighborhood where she and her husband had lived when they were newlyweds She had me pull up in front of a furniture warehouse that had once been a ballroom where she had gone dancing as a girl.

Sometimes she’d ask me to slow in front of a particular building or corner and would sit staring into the darkness, saying nothing.

As the first hint of sun was creasing the horizon, she suddenly said, ‘I’m tired.Let’s go now’.
We drove in silence to the address she had given me. It was a low building, like a small convalescent home, with a driveway that passed under a portico.

Two orderlies came out to the cab as soon as we pulled up. They were solicitous and intent, watching her every move.
They must have been expecting her.

I opened the trunk and took the small suitcase to the door. The woman was already seated in a wheelchair.

‘How much do I owe you?’ She asked, reaching into her purse.

‘Nothing,’ I said

‘You have to make a living,’ she answered.

‘There are other passengers,’ I responded.

Almost without thinking, I bent and gave her a hug.She held onto me tightly.

‘You gave an old woman a little moment of joy,’ she said. ‘Thank you.’

I squeezed her hand, and then walked into the dim morning light.. Behind me, a door shut.It was the sound of the closing of a life..

I didn’t pick up any more passengers that shift. I drove aimlessly lost in thought. For the rest of that day,I could hardly talk.What if that woman had gotten an angry driver,or one who was impatient to end his shift? What if I had refused to take the run, or had honked once, then driven away?

On a quick review, I don’t think that I have done anything more important in my life.

We’re conditioned to think that our lives revolve around great moments.

But great moments often catch us unaware-beautifully wrapped in what others may consider a small one.

I knit this one up with needle size 3.25mm and 3.75mm with a total yardage length of 1072 yards or 980 meters…Nice pattern to follow again and gorgeous yarn that is available in so many colours …perfect for the spring

Genau das, was wir für diesen Frühling brauchen, einen  Strickjacke und  mit nur  9 Kneuel von “Louisa Harding Ondine” fertig gestrickt

… ja, das Muster heißt “Clam” und auch von Louisa Harding.

Ich strickte diese Jacke mit Nadelstärke  3,25 mm und 3,75 mm mit einer Lauflänge von insgesamt 980 Meter … schönes Muster zum folgen und wieder ein wunderschönes Garn, dass in so vielen Farben erhalt bar ist … perfekt für den Frühling

Look at this Snug Rug. What a fun knit that is…yes big… big… needels you will need and a break from time to time with knitting  9mm.

 So much fun to snuggle in this one and I can tell you when you soak this in water you feel like a kitten..one just had to purr putting the fingers into this wet or dry…ahhh soooo soft and cuddly.

So start your blanket with this yarn called Tiffendal Meribo Boucle and only 4 skeins about 2187 yards or 2000 meters that’s all you will need…So stop in at “Unwind Yarn House to feel this soft blanket and yes the yarn you can get there at the same time…Have fun

Fleece Artist hat es wieder getan …

Für diese Decke bauchte ich nur 4 Kneuel  etwa 2000 Metere von diesem Garn namens “Tiffendal Meribo Boucle” … Gestrickte wurde diese Deck für  ”Unwind Yarn House”, wo Ihr auch die Wolle bestellen könnt  … Viel Spaß dann beim stricken 

Liquorice

Is a wonderful pattern by Louise Harding and relatively easy patterns to knit.

I was the lucky one to be able to finish this one for “The Yarn Store” in Newmarket, Ontario in a size 38.

So perfect size for myself…..well I had to give it up….

We used 9 skeins about 1152 yards of this very soft yarn called  Louisa Harding Willow Tweed and needles 3.75 mm and 4 mm.

If by chance you visited this last weekend the Creative Festival Show at the International Centre in Toronto, you could have seen this Jacket at ” The Quilt Store & The Yarn Store ”  booth. I had a wonderful time helping the ladies.

Here for this cardi we used a nice cotton yarn called Classic Elite Yarns Provence.

With a stunning colour and 3 skein on a 3.5mm and 4mm needles it was a very easy knit.

You could use many yarns or cottons for this I had a total of about 615 yards or 563 meters though I could have used a little more yarn.

So go look in your stash or at your yarn store and let me see yours knit all up for this Spring. Send me a note Please so I can go and see it….

Spring Fling ist ein wunderbares Muster von Jordana Paige.

Hier für dieses Cardi verwendeten wir eine schönes Garne aus Baumwolle genannt Classic Elite Yarns Provence.

Mit einer beeindruckender Farbe und 3 Knäuel mit 3,5 mm und 4mm Nadeln war es eine sehr einfaches strickten.

Man könnte viele Garne oder Baumwolle  dazu verwenden.

Für dieses Cardi hatte ich insgesamt  563 Meter zum stricken  gebraucht war aber ewtas knap.

Also schaut einmal im Kasten nach für Garn oder in Woll Geschäft und zeige mir dann Dein Cardi wenn es fertig ist  für diesem Frühling…..

Something a little different then the normal Clapotis that I had knit soooo many times.

With just one skein of Handmaiden Fine Yarn Sea Silk about 437 yards or 400 meters is all you need and needle size 4mm

Mit nur einem Knäuel von “Handmaiden Feinem Garn Sea Silk” etwa  400  meteres ist alles was du dazu brauchen wirst und Strick  Nadelstärke 4mm

Clapo-Ktus ist ein Muster von Loredana Gianferri wie immer bei Ravelry zu finden oder schauen bei meiner Seite pannel habe es dort eingetragen

Gestricket wurde dieser Schal für Wendy von Unwind Yarn Haus.

This “Aquila Cardigan”is a pattern that one can obtain from Americo Original in Toronto. One has to buy their yarn though to receive the pattern.  I enjoy knitting with their yarn and would tell anyone that they should stop in at their store on Queens Street.

I did use the yarn that the pattern called for called “Americo Original Baby Dehaired Lama” in the same gray colour that the original has on the pattern.

It did ask for 7 skeins that I had but for whatever reason I ended up knitting it shorter as I thought I would be running low on yarn…exacltly that did happen.

Turned out perfect for me though as I am not that tall and the length was just fine. A nice knit with needle size 4mm.

Dieser “Aquila Cardigan” ist ein Muster, dass man von Americo Original in Toronto beziehen kann. Doch muss man das garn dazu dort auch kaufen. Jedes Garn wie Wolle von diesem Geschäft das an Queens Street West liegt,würde ich jedem empfehlen.

Ich habe mit dem gleichen Garn wie das Muster erwähnt  “Amercio Original Baby Dehaired Llama”  auch in der gleichen grauen Farbe, diese jacke gestrickt.

 Sieben Stränge sollten genug sein dazu, doch weiss ich nicht genau warum ich etwas kurz and Wolle war.

Da ich nicht so Gross bin stellte es sich  heraus, dass meinen kleinen Änderungen genau richtig heraus kammen für mich.  Eine schöne  Strickarbeit  mit Rundstricknadel 4mm.

Side Way Knit Cabled Jacket

Is a pattern I found in the Sabrina Magazine from February 2012.(Chapters carries this magazine under the name ‘Sandra” The pattern is called Side way knit Cable Jacket

I have a new favourite yarn!!! “Tanis Fiber Arts ” this one yarn I used 6 skeins of  ”Yellow Label DK Weight” about 1560 yards  in a fun colour called orange blossom. The needle size was US4 or 3.5mm

The colours unbelievable so vivid, it felt  like I was knitting with the sunshine. Love all the cables in this cardigan.

Diese Jacke is von der Seite her gestrickt  darum auch der Name “ # 28 Quer gestrickte Zipfeljacke.” ein Muster, das ich in dem Deutschen  ”Sabrina” Strickheft von der  Februar 2012 Ausgabe  gefunden hatte.

So delicate and what an inspiration for the Spring this colour is…Laminaria by Elizabeth Freeman is a free pattern you can find on Ravelry.  

I used only one skein on this delicate yummy yarn  called ‘Handmaiden Fine Yarn Lace Silk” about 900 meters and needle 3.5mm was just right for this too

However I do really like this pattern but….. I absolutely do not like this center stitch in the first pattern…I most definitely will not knit that again with this center stitch in the pattern. One can always add it for the second Blossom Chart.

So zart und was für eine Pracht  für den Frühling… diese Farbe und so ein schöner Schal…” Laminaria” von Elizabeth Freeman ist ein Gratis Muster, das Du auch bei Ravelry finden kanst.

Dazu benutzte  ich nur ein Knäuel von dem Herlichen garn ” diesem herlichen  Garn “Handmaiden Fine Yarn Lace Silk” etwa 900 Meter und mit 3,5-mm-Nadel war genau richtig für diese zu Tuch.

Das Muster gefällt mir sehr gut und ist auch schön zum Stricken….doch, die mitlere Masche von dem ersten Muster würde ich das nächste Mal ganz sicher weg lassen und dann im zweiten Muster die Masche aufnehmen….Ich finde es schade dass da so ein grosser Streifen ist in der Mitte.
